I saw Peruse Project over on YouTube do this thing so I figured it was time for me to do it. I really enjoy the fall time. It was created by Tall Tales over on Youtube!
~ In fall, the air is crisp and clear: name a book with a vivid setting
The first book that comes to mind for me would be Vicious by V.E. Schwab because she goes into so much detail about the surroundings in the book. I can picture myself going to school with the main characters in the book.
~ Nature is beautiful… but also dying: name a book that is beautifully written, but also deals with a heavy topic like loss or grief
Some Kind of Happiness by Claire Legrand which I do have a review up for so I am not going to go into too much detail. The writing in this book is honestly phenomenal which is rare for me to say. You get to follow a story of discovery.
~ Fall is back to school season: share a non-fiction book that taught you something new
I honestly don’t read too many nonfiction books. I did pick up The Subtle Art of Not Giving A Fuck today so I’ll keep you updated.
~ In order to keep warm, it’s good to spend some time with the people we love: name a fictional family/household/friend-group that you’d like to be a part of
I would love to be apart of the women of 300 fox way from The Raven Cycle series. They are all so cool and inspiring. I want to just chill with them.
~ The colourful leaves are piling up on the ground: show us a pile of fall-colored spines
~ Fall is the perfect time for some storytelling by the fireside: share a book wherein somebody is telling a story
Eesh I honestly can’t think of anything…I kind of feel like We Are Okay by Nina LaCour has some story-telling aspects. Marin talks about her life throughout the story.
~ The nights are getting darker: share a dark, creepy read
One of my friends gifted me A Head Full of Ghosts by Paul Tremblay aka she’s forcing me to read it because it’s one of her favorite books. (I’m joking about the forcing part) The only thing I know about this book is that it’s spooky….and that’s all I want to know about it.
~ The days are getting colder: name a short, heartwarming read that could warm up somebody’s cold and rainy day
We Are Okay by Nina LaCour which I will forever plug until the day I die. It’s a short read with a heartwarming story. It’s perfect for winter time too because it takes place near Christmas.
~ Fall returns every year: name an old favourite that you’d like to return to soon
I would really like to go back and re-read Percy Jackson. It’s been a long time since I have dived into those books so it would be nice to relive some childhood memories.
~ Fall is the perfect time for cozy reading nights: share your favourite cozy reading “accessories”
Okay, I will have to say fuzzy socks or a fuzzy blanket are my go-to for cozy reading nights. I will sometimes drink tea if it’s actually cold enough (it rarely is where I live) so I usually just pick whatever mug suits my fancies.
