TBC Spring Readathon 2021

Hello! I am so excited to announce that I am hosting a readathon with my book server in the month of April. It’ll be from April 16th to the 18th starting at midnight in your time zone. I honestly love hosting readathons because it allows me to interact with more people outside of my usual bubble. This readathon is not specifically server only. Anyone can join us by tagging us on Instagram and Twitter. I will be following and sharing the tbrs that people post! You can use the hashtag tbcspringreadathon21 on instagram and twitter as well! I am sure you guys are excited to see what the prompts are for this round.

The prompts are pretty straight forward! You can mix and match them however you see fit. You could even find a book that covers all three. The read three books and the bonus prompts are optional! Jade City is the readalong book for my server so if you want to join in you can!

I really hope that you guys are able to join us! Please feel free to reach out to me if you want more information about my book server and where to follow us on social media. I also wanted to thank everyone who has been following me for the past four years. I just hit 4 years on my blog and that is beyond anything I could have ever hoped for with this blog. I am so thankful that I still have a place in this community! Thank you so much!

The Reading Rush 2020

It is my favorite time of the year when the reading rush rolls around because July is usually my best reading month. It is the last month of the summer (for me) which means I am usually skipping away on holiday. Things are a little different this year with the virus and staying at home. I found that at the beginning of lockdown I was less motivated to do much of anything. Well June was kind of a bad month with everything going on (It was my birthday month though) so when the reading rush announcement dropped I was excited. I feel like I’m finally getting back into reading (aka stay tuned for some book reviews) over the past month which has me more than excited for The Reading Rush.

I have included the list of prompts which can be found on their website here. Prompt four will be decided the day of the readathon! It’ll be the pick I decide to pick up first.

I definitely plan to double up where I can on books simply because I do not want to overdo it. Are you guys taking part in the reading rush? Are we reading any of the same books? I’d love to have a buddy read or two during the reading rush to keep me motivated!

Animal Crossing + Readathon = My Life

Hello! I am slowly trying to get back into blogging since my rather long hiatus. School and research has honestly been eating up most of my time preventing me from reading, but spring break is rapidly approaching. That also means more reading time. I probably squealed out loud when I saw there was an animal crossing themed readathon in honor of the new game. I knew I had to take part in some way, shape, or form. You can follow their twitter at acrossingread.

  • Resetti: I don’t really have a book for this because it will be whatever else I’m reading at the time of this readathon!
  • KK Slider: My Year of Rest and Relaxation by Ottessa Moshfegh
  • Able Sisters: Fountains of Silence by Ruta Sepetys
  • Tom Nook: An Absolutely Remarkable Thing by Hank Green
  • Animal Crossing Gamecube: Son of Neptune by Rick Riordan
  • Isabelle: If I can get my hands on the Tea Dragon Society that is probably what I’ll read, but if not I’ll skip the bonus prompt!

Are you guys excited for the new Animal Crossing game? I already have it preordered and ready to go!

The Reading Rush TBR

Okay, you may remember that I loved the Booktubeathon! It was the first ever readathon for me and the first time I read more than 2 books in a week. Well they got a rebrand into The Reading Rush. I am beyond stoked for this new change because it comes with a website where you can track how many pages you have read, chat in the forums, and earn badges. I finally figured out what I am going to read so here is my tentative TBR for the Reading Rush.

  1. Read a book with purple on the cover Aurora Rising by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff
  2. Read a book in the same spot the entire timeVersailles of the Dead Vol 1 by Kumiko Suekane
  3. Read a book you meant to read last yearAll the Crooked Saints by Maggie Stiefvater
  4. Read an author’s first book City of Bones by Cassandra Clare (re-read)

What are you guys planning to read for the readathon? Are you taking part?

#UnsolvedAThon TBR

OKAY, I am just going to state right here and now that I’m beyond excited for this readathon. Buzzfeed Unsolved is my addiction. The true crime season just aired so like I’m ready for this readathon. I am not going to into too much detail here about what the #UnsolvedAThon is about since you read TheBookCorps’ post here.

Are we really surprised I picked Ryan’s route? I’m a Boogara at heart! I will admit I love both of the boys equally, but I strongly believe in things like Mothman and aliens.

The Challenges

  • The Search for the Mysterious Mothman – Book about a mythical creature or monster : The Cruel Prince by Holly Black
  • The Chilling Mystery of the Black Dahlia – Read a very well-known/famous book : Vicious by V.E. Schwab

readathons for 2019

Okay,  I was originally going to stray away from readathons because in all honesty do I really have time to do them while in college? I realized that perhaps readathons would be the best way to push me to read more while in college. I noticed that when I do read more that I feel happier. That was something that I struggled with during my fall semester at my new university. I felt like I never had me time which in turn made me feel awful. Caz’ video on youtube is what inspired me to make a list of readathons I am interested in doing for the new year.

  • Off The Grid Readathon – I actually saw the post for this before I watched Caz’ video so perhaps it was a sign for me to actually include more readathons in my life. I like the aspect of going off the grid for a weekend to focus solely on reading. I know that I spend far too much time on my phone when I should be reading. I don’t know if I’ll do all the dates for this readathon, but I am aiming for the January dates.
  • 24in48 Readathon – Another readathon in January? I must have some high ambitions. I think it’s also because some readathons haven’t confirmed their dates for mid/late 2019. This is another readathon that falls on a weekend which works with my school schedule.

These are the two that I am most looking forward to in early 2019! I will come back around mid year to update you guys on any other ones. Do you have any to recommend?

I recently watched a video for a new readathon by one of my favorite youtubers April so please give that video a watch for more information. I am currently on spring break which means this readathon works out perfectly for me. I have been in the worst reading slump so I’m hoping this will kick things into gear. I am going to go into the list of challenges and state which book fits those challenges.

The Challenges

  • 1. Read a book that you acquired recently
  • 2. Read a book with a beautiful cover
  • 3. Read a book you’ve been meaning to read for ages
  • 4. Read a book with your favourite colour on the cover
  • 5. Read a hyped book or a book that has been recommended to you
  • 6. Read a book that you’re EXCITED to read

  • Truly Devious by Maureen Johnson – I recently acquired this book, the cover is beautiful, and it is a hyped book
  • Call Me By Your Name by Andre Aciman – I have been meaning to read this for ages especially now that I have seen the movie and it has my favorite color as the background!
  • Rebel Rising by Beth Revis – I am honestly just really excited to read this book!

Are you guys taking part in any upcoming readathons? I am always on the hunt for suggestions so please let me know! Have you read any of the books I’m planning on reading?

Booktubeathon 2017 TBR

I have been doing the booktubeaton for a few years now. I am excited to finally showcase it on a blog. I won’t be doing any of the video challenges this year, but that does mean I won’t be doing the reading challenges. Are you confused about what I’m talking about? Okay here is a mini explanation about what the booktubeathon is. It is a week long readathon hosted by the lovely Ariel Bissett. There is video challenges, reading challenges, and a book depository discount page just for the booktubeathon. Do you want to enter? Well slide on over to the booktubeathon youtube channel to find out more.

Okay so there is seven reading challenges this time around though only a few of them actually require a certain type of book. I am going to list the seven reading challenges and then show you what I plan to read during the week.

The 2017 Reading Challenges
1/ Read a book with a person on the cover.
2/ Read a hyped book.
3/ Finish a book in one day.
4/ Read about a character that is very different from you.
5/ Finish a book completely outdoors.
6/ Read a book you bought because of the cover.
7/ Read seven books.

BeFunky Collage

We Are Okay by Nina LaCour – Challenge One – I picked this book solely because I have wanted to read it since I got it for my birthday. It fits the first challenge of a person on the cover.

Mistborn by Brandson Sanderson – Challenge Two – I feel like this book is very hyped up especially when a bunch of booktubers read it a few years back. Everyone seems to really enjoy this book so I hope I do as well.

Moxie by Jennifer Mathieu – Challenge Four – One of my lovely friends overseas let me buy this book and have them ship it to me since you can only get it WHSmith. They don’t ship online PLUS THE UK COVER IS SO NICE! Okay so I picked this book because from the synopsis it makes me feel like the main character was definitely much more confident than I was at her age.

House of Furies by Madeline Roux – Challenge Six – I’m not going to lie. I mostly bought this book because the cover was just too dang pretty.

I plan to read more than those four books, but these are the four that fit the challenges that have been presented. What are you planning to read for the booktubeathon?

Emmie’s B-Day Readathon

Well you might be reading that title with a thought in mind. Why would I host a readathon for my birthday? Well I just really love reading, and I want to read with a bunch of other people for my birthday since I have nothing planned. This readathon will take place the weekend before my birthday since my birthday is on a Tuesday this year.

Readathon Starts June 2nd at 12 am wherever you are in the world and ends June 4th at 11:59 pm

  • Read a book that has been on your tbr for over 6 months
  • Read a short book (under 200 pages)
  • Read at least two books

I’m keeping the challenges pretty easy this time around since it’s a three day readathon. I’ll be posting my tbr closer to the readathon. The tags I plan on using are #emmie’sbdayreadathon and #ebreadthon

I will be posting daily updates on here as well as my tumblr page so be sure to stalk both if you want. I will also be hosting reading sprints and doing photo challenges so I suggest you stalk my other social media.
